Game of Chance Intro

This is the start of a Freeform Game of Chance

 It's time to Prepare Yourself

Most things on the list are optional - this IS freeform after all, lol.

(alternatives can be created, imagined, or rejected at whim)

You will need:

  • 6 numbered bags, or boxes, or plastic containers, or 6 different 'things' that will hold your yarns. You can see from the photo above that I am using brown paper grocery bags.
  • 1 container un-numbered, to collect and store your finished scrumbles in.
  • A selection of about 8 - 20 yarns of varying weights, thickness, and textures. Choose your own colours and contrasts. Scrap balls from your stash can be used here too.
  • Crochet hooks or knitting needles sizes to suit your yarns.
  • Usual crochet accompanying tools - scissors, darning needle, thread catcher, wine, chocolate bar.
  • Pen, paper and empty jar (with lid).
  • A Die or dice. If you can't find a wooden dice, then make a dice with a cereal packet or card -  or
  • - or I shall post a photo of my own random numbers that I throw each time, for you to use if needed.
------------
Gather your yarns and divide them between your numbered bags.
How you divide them is entirely up to you. It could be by colour and/or shade, or have one bag with fluffy, frilly, eye-lash etc yarn, or you could just randomly have a game of throw the ball of yarn and see which bag it lands in or closest to (haha, I like the idea of throwing yarn across the room like a game of skittles).
------------
Pen, Paper & Jar
Cut out 2cm squares or a size of your choice, you will need 26 of them.
Write a letter of the alphabet in CAPITAL letters on each one of them (make sure you have all 26 letters). Fold the papers twice and pop into the jar to await the lucky dips..
------------
Paper
(or this part can be written on computer Word processing document)
Or you can use this list that I have prepared.
Down the left and edge of the page write the alphabet.
Alongside the letter make a list of stitches, styles, design elements, shapes, techniques etc.
